I got to explore El Paso a little bit this weekend as well as, Carlsbad and Artesia, New Mexico. My mom and I flew into El Paso on Friday afternoon to meet some old friends of my dad and hers. Side note: my parents met here and got married in El Paso, so it was a bit fun to see where it started. Ryan drove in later that night and it was so good to see him. We spent Saturday driving around to Missions and well, exploring. Sunday was spent visiting an old house and then off to Carlsbad to see the caverns, which were simply amazing! We ate there and continued on our way to the lovely town (sarcastic) of Artesia. Ok, I will give them a bit of credit, it wasn't as bad as Lordsburg, NM that we spent the weekend in two weekends before. That is not saying much. Then we bummed around with a trip to Wal-mart AND K-mart before Ryans graduation on Monday. Yep, that was pretty much all there was to do. I would love someone who has grown up in a small town like these to tell me what it was like and what the heck they did to pass time. Anyway, he graduated and that was great! I got to see where he has been spending the last few months and see my hot man in his uniform! ;) Then Tuesday morning it was off for a 3 1/2 hour drive back to El Paso for a flight home. I am exhausted!
At a mission.
Us again outside a mission in El Paso.
Now my favorite picture...
Ryan getting into character for his new life living in the wild, wild west!
I will post some fun pictures of the other stuff later.
