Holiday no-no's

Ahhh, so the holidays are pretty much over and the new year will be upon us. Some reflections on this holiday season, well more things that boggle my mind really...
(please note this might offend some and in no way means I am talking about you)

I first am wondering if people forget that Christmas is the same date every single year? No, really. I mean if it comes every single year on the same date then how come people can't get gifts out on time and cards? Don't get me wrong, I understand the meaning I am just pondering the little things. I am a busy person as well and I seem to be able to get out stuff in plenty of time for people to enjoy their cards BEFORE the actual day. What am I going to do with a Christmas card after the fact? It goes directly in the trash. And no, sending them on the 20th or any day after it will not get across the country in time. That goes for gifts as well. If your going to send something then have it to the person in time for the holiday for someone to enjoy on the day it should be there for. Oh wait, I am sorry, thanks for the thought...the after thought.

Now, on the same rant as above I am wondering why people wait to see if I am going to send a card before they send theirs? Or don't bother sending a card at all. I am in a real tight money crunch as well but manage to buy cards, stamps without ending up on the street and I take the time to personalize each card and send them out three weeks before! Yet seriously, I got not even an email of wishes from some people on my list that I should of been on theirs for sure (say family members as an example). All I can say is, I will be saving just a few bucks next year on cards and will buy myself a candy bar or two. Just an FYI, not that these people read this blog or know it exists but you can buy a box of cards at the dollar store! Where the ENTIRE box is just one dollar! Wow.

Third and final mind boggling issue, have you ever re gifted a gift? I don't mean a nice gift that you just can't use or a gift that someone would actually like or use. I am talking about a gift that you don't want to buy so your rummage through the crap you already own and give it to someone. The gifts that when this person opens it they try so hard not to make that face. You know the face, the face where you want to say, "are ya serious? but try to use the manners your mother taught you so you put on that fake smile and say, "gee thanks, I can really use this...uh" (stalling while you try and figure out what 'this' actually is) and end up just saying, "uh, this. Thank you." Notes to take if you are one of these horrible re gifters, make the gift look like it wasn't re gifted or something you didn't want. Don't make it look like you didn't want to spend the money on the person and you picked through your gift trash. I seriously think that gifts at Christmas should come from the heart and have some thought into them, if not don't bother. Glue still left on gifts that were once attached to other things as another gift set and now found there way into my gift makes me think you kept what you wanted from someone elses gift and gave me the crap you didn't want or could use. Could ya at least of taken the glue off? Think about this, if you don't want it and would rather throw it in the trash what makes you think someone else wants your trash? I don't understand it. Oh sorry, I am supposed to be thankful...so thank you for the thoughtful gift that has now become MY trash or someone elses future gift. ;) Haha

So has anyone gotten or given a poop-o-gift before that you know was re gifted?

You are so hilarious! I know exactly what you're talking about. I get plenty of "those" gifts from my grandparents. I hope you had a great Christmas.
